Chemence Ltd (“Chemence”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This notice explains what personal information we collect when you visit our website or contact us, how and why we use it, who we share it with, how we protect it, and the rights you have under UK data protection law. Please read it alongside the cookie notice shown on our website.

1.0 Who we are

Chemence Ltd is the controller of your personal information. We are a company registered in England and Wales (company number 01746313), with our operating site at 13 Princewood Road, Earlstrees Industrial Estate, Corby, Northamptonshire NN17 4XD.

2.0 The law this notice follows

We handle personal information in line with the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 (as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025), and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), the EU GDPR may also apply to you, and you have equivalent rights to those set out below.

3.0 The personal information we collect

Information you give us.

When you contact us — for example through a contact form, an email, or a sales or technical enquiry — we collect the information you choose to provide, such as your name, company, email address, telephone number and the content of your message. Enquiries submitted through our website are sent to us by email over an encrypted (TLS) connection.

Information we collect automatically.

Like most websites, ours uses cookies and similar technologies to collect certain information when you visit — for example your device type, browser, operating system, approximate location, IP address and how you move through the site. We use Google Analytics for this. Analytics cookies are only set where you have given consent through our cookie banner.

4.0 Why we use your information and our legal basis

We use your personal information for the following purposes:

5.0 Cookies

Strictly necessary cookies are needed for our website to work. Other cookies — including analytics cookies — are only set where you have given consent, in line with PECR. You can change or withdraw your choices at any time using the cookie settings at the bottom of our website, or by managing cookies in your browser.

6.0 Who we share your information with

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only where necessary, including with:

  • Service providers who process personal information on our behalf under written contracts — for example our website host and Google (Google Analytics);
  • Other companies in our group, where needed and lawful; and
  • Authorities, advisers or other third parties where we are required to by law, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Our service providers may only use your information on our instructions and must keep it secure.

7.0 International data transfers

Our website is hosted on a Chemence group server in the United States, and some of our service providers are based outside the UK. Where we transfer your personal information outside the UK, we make sure it is protected by an appropriate safeguard — such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (the “UK-US data bridge”) where the recipient is certified under it, or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement together with a transfer risk assessment. You can ask us for more detail about the safeguards we use.

8.0 How long we keep your information

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes set out in this notice, and to meet our legal, accounting and regulatory obligations.

As a general guide:

  • Enquiry and contact records are kept for 2 years after the last meaningful contact;
  • Customer and supplier records are kept for 6 years after the end of our relationship (to meet tax and legal requirements); and
  • Analytics data is kept for 2 years.

When we no longer need information, we securely delete or anonymise it.

9.0 How we keep your information secure

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to keep personal information secure. All traffic between our website and your browser is encrypted and delivered over HTTPS. Our hosting facility has physical and access controls including secured server cabinets, 24/7 CCTV and on-site security, and access limited to authorised, security-cleared staff. We keep our security measures under review.

10.0 Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Ask for access to the personal information we hold about you;
  • Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • Ask us to delete your information in certain circumstances;
  • Ask us to restrict, or to object to, how we use your information;
  • Ask for a copy of certain information in a portable format; and
  • Withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent.

We will respond without undue delay and within one month, although we may extend this for complex requests and will tell you if so. There is normally no charge. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in section 12. We may need to verify your identity before we respond.

You also have the right to make a complaint about how we handle your personal information — see section 11.

11.0 How to make a complaint

If you have any concerns about how we have handled your personal information, you can make a complaint to us directly. Please contact our Data Protection Contact at dataprotection@chemence.com. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days of receiving it, keep you informed while we investigate it, and tell you about the outcome without undue delay.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator, at any time:
